Homecoming Sunday is a cherished annual tradition at Patterson Grove, and we’re excited to welcome our church family—past and present—for a meaningful day of worship, remembrance, and fellowship.

Worship Service & Guest Speaker Join us on Sunday, June 7, 2026, beginning with Sunday School at 9:00 AM and Homecoming Worship at 10:00 AM. Our guest speaker will be Brian Webster, who grew up at PG and is the son of the late Norman and Frankie Webster. We look forward to hearing him share from God’s Word and reflect on the legacy of faith within our church family.

What Is Homecoming Sunday? Homecoming is a time to look back with gratitude—remembering our past, honoring the members we’ve lost, and celebrating God’s continued work in our church. It’s also a special opportunity to invite former members, friends, and families to return and reconnect.

Covered Dish Lunch Following the service, everyone is invited to a covered dish lunch in the Family Life Center. Each family is encouraged to bring 1–2 dishes to share as we enjoy a time of fellowship around the table.

Homecoming Flowers Many families choose to place flowers in the sanctuary in memory of loved ones. If you would like to participate, you are welcome to bring flowers in honor or remembrance.

On May 20, 2026, the Senior adults from Patterson Grove Baptist Church will be going to Strawberry Hill and Hamricks. All Senior adults and family members are welcome to join us at 11:30am at Patterson Grove to load the church van and a few person vehicles to travel to Strawberry Hill.

During this outing we will eat at Strawberry Hill, have time for ice cream and purchasing produce. Half the group will go to Hamrick’ s the other half will make the way back to Patterson Grove.

This is a beautiful moment in our church life when parents commit to raising their children in a Christ-centered home, and our congregation pledges to support them with love, prayer, and encouragement.

Parent Commissioning Sunday

Child Dedication Sunday is also Parent Commissioning Sunday, where we affirm and commission parents as the primary spiritual guides in their child’s life. Parents will commit to:

• Raising their child in a home that loves and follows Jesus

• Modeling a life of faith and prayer

• Regularly bringing their child to corporate worship

• Engaging in church events and ministries that help their child come to know and follow Jesus

As a church, we will stand with these families, promising to walk alongside them as they nurture the next generation in Christ.

Guests will enjoy a full meal featuring your choice of steak or chicken, along with salad, baked potato, bread, drink, and dessert. Whether you choose to dine in and enjoy the fellowship or carry out your meal, your participation directly supports our youth.

In addition to the meal, we will share in elements of a Seder-style experience, reflecting on the rich biblical symbolism that points toward Christ, our Passover Lamb. It’s a wonderful opportunity to prepare our hearts for Easter while supporting the next generation of believers.

Our Senior Adults are invited to join us for a special outing on Wednesday, February 18 at 12:00 PM. We’ll be heading to Jackson’s Cafeteria in Gastonia, NC to enjoy a great meal and a time of fellowship together.

Please meet at the church at noon, and we’ll ride over as a group. If you plan to attend, be sure to sign up at the church entrance so we can prepare transportation.

Our Sunday School class is stepping into the next chapter of our Essentials of Faith series, and you’re invited to be part of the conversation. Join us this Sunday at 9:00 AM as we continue exploring the foundations of what we believe and why it matters.

In this second part of the study, we’ll dive into the question: “Why does Jesus matter?” Expect thoughtful teaching, honest dialogue, and a space where real questions are welcomed. This fall, Patterson Grove Baptist Church is excited to launch our small group season, offering transformative studies to deepen your faith, finances, and purpose! Register Online to join one of our three adult small groups starting Sunday September 14th at 5:30pm.

•  33 :: Biblical Manhood – A Bible study for men exploring God’s design for men and their work. Through video teachings and discussions, men will find purpose with God’s calling and engage with passion and integrity.

•  Financial Peace University – Dave Ramsey’s course equips you with biblical money management principles to eliminate debt and build wealth. Weekly videos, discussions, and tools like EveryDollar guide you in budgeting, saving, and investing.

•  Patterned – Developed by NC Baptists, this study equips Christians for disciple-making per the Great Commission. Weekly videos and questions cover evangelism, Bible study, testimonies, gospel conversations, and fostering transformation.

For our younger members, we’re thrilled to offer engaging programs every Sunday night at 5:30pm during small group sessions:

•  Youth Group: The youth will participate in a study called “Leverage Your Life” by Vance Pitman of the North American Mission Board. They will not only study God’s word and pray as youth but also have a notebook to take home and work on individually and with their parents.

•  Children’s Ministry: Fun, age-appropriate lessons and crafts to teach kids about Jesus.

•  Nursery: Loving care for infants and toddlers in a safe, nurturing environment.
